Voluminant is seeking a seasoned, entrepreneurial-minded Strategic Advisor or Executive-in-Residence to help shape the next chapter of our growth. This is not a traditional consulting gig — it’s a rare opportunity to co-create new offerings, pursue high-value partnerships, and guide the direction of a lean, ambitious firm on the rise.
We're looking for someone with big firm consulting experience, a strong instinct for business development, and the desire to get in on the ground floor of something that’s growing fast. If there's mutual alignment, this role can evolve into a Founding Partner position, complete with long-term equity and strategic ownership.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO and leadership team on client growth, offerings, and positioning.
- Lead or co-lead high-impact engagements with clients, helping to define Voluminant’s value proposition in emerging or underserved markets.
- Identify and pursue new business development opportunities, with a focus on federal, state/local government, and mid-market enterprise clients.
- Contribute to proposal writing, client presentations, and early-stage project design.
- Shape the firm’s intellectual capital — workshops, frameworks, and strategic insights that we take to market.
- Provide guidance on scaling operations, partnerships, and delivery models.
- Collaborate on investment strategy and play a key role in building long-term strategic partnerships.
What We’re Looking For:
- 7–15 years of consulting experience, ideally with a top-tier or mid-sized consulting firm (e.g., Accenture, Deloitte, Booz Allen, etc.).
- A track record of closing business, building trusted client relationships, and driving project delivery.
- Entrepreneurial mindset — someone who thrives in ambiguity and sees possibility in complexity.
- Strong communication and executive presence; confident in the boardroom or briefing room.
- Comfortable wearing multiple hats and working hands-on with limited infrastructure.
- Bonus if you’ve built or scaled a business unit, practice area, or professional services firm.
Why This Role is Different:
- You're not just an advisor. You’re stepping into a core leadership circle.
- No bureaucracy. Just ideas, execution, and results.
- Path to ownership. If there’s alignment, this becomes a Founding Partner track.
- Real impact. You’ll help re-imagine consulting for a new era — more agile, practical, and human.
Compensation:
- Modest initial stipend or project-based compensation
- Generous incentive and success-sharing for deals or wins brought in
- Option to negotiate equity, revenue share, or Founding Partner status based on contribution and commitment
